How to generate MBtiles files for Konect Offline Basemaps

MBtiles files need to be generated and uploaded to konect to import a basemap into the application. These can be generated using QGIS from a merged ECW image. As GBM Konect has a 2gb file size limit for basemap a konect project for the appropriate LGA will need to be selected by users to view an area of interest when offline.

MBTiles for Konect can be generated in QGIS under the Processing Toolbox > Raster Tools menu.

The ecw file needs to be selected to autopopulate MBtile extents.  To define mbtile file zoom levels, file extents and outputs enter the required values in the dialogue box as below.

Once an MBtile file has been created, it can be uploaded to the Konect Manager application via the Import/Export Function > Basemap MBTiles

You can create MBtile files for the following areas using the imagery provided. Tiles have been created with the defined zoom levels in order to ensure that the 2gb file size limit is not exceeded for GBM Konect
